  MAROCK

In this post, I wanted to introduce to you one of my favorite movie, Marock, released in 2005 and directed by Laila Marrakchi. The movie's title is a mix between the French name of Morocco, Maroc, and Rock, as in 'Rock'n Roll'. It is the story of young jet set Moroccans enjoying the life where two lovers, Rita, a muslim girl, and Yourri, a jewish guy were dealing with their impossible love because of their respective religion. Marock is a movie where hypocritical religion, arranged-weedings, and the Judeo-Arab rivalry were one of the principal subject of the movie.

I found this movie emotional, real, and true. The young comedians were exceptional in this movie, where we can see the real acting abilities. Marock remembered me my last summers in Morocco with my friends and my origins. We can travel and visit Morocco through this movie, where must of the scenes where filmed in the economic city in Morocco, Casablanca. The soundtrack was amazing, the music was perfectly chosen with the scenes, the actors, and the context. I suggested you to listen to it. I watched this movie at least 5 times and each time, I discovered the movie in an other way and still crying at then end!

MOROCCAN MINT TEA

Actually, I wanted to give you the recipes for the Moroccan traditional foods but, in my opinion, it is really hard to prepare and it took a lot of time before to get the perfect dish :s then, instead of these recipes, I decided to give the easier moroccan recipe that will take you few minutes to prepare, and it is so delicious!! The Moroccan mint tea is our traditional drink. It is a sign of hospitality, friendship, and it represents a fundamental element in our tradition. You can take it for your breakfast, during the dinner, after your lunch, or for desert with the delicious pastry makings :)

For this recipe, you need:
- 10 springs fresh mint
- 3 teaspoons of green tea
- 3 tablespoons of sugar / or more to taste
- 4 cups of water

Directions:
1 - Boil the water and pour a small amount in the teapot, swishing it around to warm the pot.
2 - Combine the mint and green tea and sugar in the teapot, then fill it with the rest of the hot water.
  1. 3 - Let the tea brew for three minutes.
  2. 4 - Set out glasses for the tea.
  3. 5 - A shot-glass is close to the slender glasses used in Morocco.
  4. 6 - Fill just one glass with the tea, then pour it back in the pot.
  5. 7 - Repeat.
  6. 8 - This helps to dissolve and distribute the sugar.
  7. 9 - Pour the tea.
  8. 10 - You want a nice foam on the tea so always pour with the teapot a high distance above the glasses.
  9. 11 - If you do not have at least a little foam on the top of the first glass, then pour it back into the teapot and try again until the tea starts to foam up nicely.
  10. 12 - Garnish with the remaining sprigs of mint.

    Enjoy :)
